..... how?

The age old discussion among truckers is what to do about loading or
unloading your truck.
Under Title 49 there are several sections which clearly dictate that the
driver IS NOT to touch the freight. Period.
That the driver is not required to pay extortionate fees to lumpers as is
pointed out in 11109.

Quote:
LOADING AND UNLOADING MOTOR VEHICLES
49 U.S.C. § 11109
(a.) Whenever a shipper or receiver of property requires a truck driver to
be assisted in the loading or unloading the property, the shipper or
receiver is responsible for providing that service or must compensate the
driver for all costs associated with those providing lumping services.

It is unlawful to force a truck driver to load or unload the product or to
compel a truck driver to employ lumper(s) to load or unload the product

My question is, just how are we, as drivers, supposed to get this law
enforced?
Whom do we call? Obviously NOT the US Marshalls.
Do we call the DOT and they enforce it or what?

You call the local cops and they act like you're an idiot because they don't
know nuthin about enforcing federal laws because to them it's not a criminal
act they can enforce. Or just don't want to be bothered with it.

So what then are our options in getting the various warehouses to comply
with federal law and leaving us alone?

Are your newest imaginary employers expecting you to unload the potatoes,
Bullis? Say, you said you be at work from 6AM - 2PM. I guess it was just
another lie.

This falls into his past postings where he claimed he wouldn't unload the
freight, just deliver it. What a lazy shit. No wonder no one will hire
him, he's trying to find as many loopholes as he can to avoid as much work
as possible.
