I got a notice in the mail a week ago stating that I have a parking fine
from
New Orleans ... from 1998! I have no clue what they're talking about,
but
certainly any attempt to defend myself against this has been seriously
prejudiced by 6 YEARS of delay in notifying me about this. Does anyone
know
what the statute of limitations is for parking violations in Louisiana?
Send it back to the court with a request that the item be quashed on the
grounds of the age and the fact that it is only a minor misdemeanor.
Then get your checkbook ready as you receive more fines than before you
started.
Also include that this is your FIRST notification of such an item
existing.
Hardly due process.
Advise the court you'll plead not guilty and you will request a jury
trial.
Courts don't like to seat juries for these kinds of things specially when
the SOL has, or is about to, run out.
No judge is going to give a jury trial for a parking ticket, Bullis.
Are you guilty? Ever been to new orleans you naughty boy?
Do you, or did you then, even live in Louisana?
Are you coming onto him, st00pid?
